From the darkest shadow of the darkest corner of the room, the veil of wisps parts as a man shaped figure glides from it’s darkest depths. It takes a while for the edges of the figure to become more defined as the shadow in the corner claims it’s remnants it's twirling blackness.
Before everyone stands a man of about six feet tall with a very slender build. An ebony wide brimmed hat is lowered so that it hides his face. Emerging from under this hat is mid-back length black hair of which some strands are braided with silver beads at the end.
When he raises the brim of his hat one can see from his mid-nose and down entering into his coat is a black silk scarf shielding his face. A few black bangs cover his left eye. Then one of the most striking features about this person appears, a pair of silver white eyes almost glowing amongst the darkness.
Under his black silk scarf is a black long coat with what appears to be a shadow motif embroidered in silver thread upon it and two rows of silver clasps binding it tightly closed. Following the line of his shoulders and down his arms are tight cuffs and on his hands are black gloves made of the finest lamb skin.
Upon his hip is a scabbard for a side sword upon which reads in High Coryani, Umbra Nuntius. His Pants are made of black leather that lead directly down to black shoes made of shadow cat skin.
Looking arround quickly as if he is lost, he spouts in a low gravelly voice, "Well this is a most fortunate place to end up."
He then walks up to the bar and under his breathe asks the bartender a few questions.
Turning around quickly, he removes his silk scarf from his face with a flick of his wrist. Underneath the scarf is the face of a young man with a smile from ear to ear.
"How would you all like a drink on me?" still smilling with dimples in both cheeks as he scans the room, though his eyes never seem to fall upon the Kio in the room.

The rather loquacious dark-kin standing at the bar passes a glance towards the shadowy figure and his offer. The dark-kin - whose name has probably been uttered as Kelb by several bar patrons, though the intonation would likely be derogatory from many - looks to his near-empty mug before lifting it to his lips. A quick swallow of the remaining contents heralds a satisfied "ahhh" from his lips before he reponds to the stranger's generous offer.
"Well, Ah hardly know yeh well enough ta wish yeh covered in ale. But if yeh're buying, never let it be said that Kelb'Bakari turned down a free drink," the dark-kin replies with a rakish grin of his own. _________________ - Harliquinn, John Bellando

The Elorii at the end of the bar says "5 gold on the dark-kin to out-drink the val and 10 gold says the val gets upset about it". _________________ Kailandos, Elorii Chanter of the Rebirth and the Bright People

Well now, why that is a generous offer, I don't drink that heavily. I will have maybe one or two this eve. I would never try to out drink a stout fellow as this Altherian(giving a good rap on his shoulder). I must always keep my wits about me, never know when one of "them" may be about.
I may even sit next to the fire and play everyone a fine tune, if everyone would be willing to listen, after I get your drink orders. Bartender take their orders.
(in a very graceful, almost dance like, stride he wanders over to a hearth and pulls from his back a violin made of ebony wood with inlays of ivory and a silver bridge and tuners. Then pulls the bow out and starts playing a very sad melody) |
