The subject pretty much says it all, with stat bumps as advancements and stat losses due to wounds, if you would end up with a point more or less than you would have otherwise does your Fate pool adjust as well?

well not quite, except when you reach a new Tier.
your base fate only comes into play at character creation and when you reach a new character tier. _________________ Pedro C Barrenechea

Ermmmmm - that's not what Eric said when I asked about this if the "effect of advancement on attributes" thread. He said
"When you advance your attributes. your defenses, fate, stamina, wounds, initiative (etc.) increase accordingly. "
Can we get a clarification?
Thanks!

yes... they do advance.. remember when you Tier up your fate "resets" to your base fate. _________________ Pedro C Barrenechea

Right, but that's not quite the question. Let's say that I start with a base Fate of 4.
Through gameplay, I have spent and gained FPs, and now I sit at 6 total.
At Tier 1, Rank 1 I add 1 to each of 2 attribute scores, thus giving me a minimum attribute score of 5. Do I then add a FP so that my total is now 7?
Or do I have to wait until Tier 2 to take advantage of that increase, in which case my base Fate at Tier 2 is 5? (It would be 5 in either case, but the real question is whether I get the additional FP during Tier 1.)
Thanks!

Your Fate score would increase. You would not get an additional Fate Point to spend until your tier increases. There are other benefits to the Fate Score itself that will be explained as time passes, but we are still thinking about the final form.
One idea we are tossing about is that no matter how many Fate Points one may have stored up, there is a hard limit to spending them in a given adventure. We are considering a limit equal to your Fate Score.
We are also considering changing some of the benefits from the flat bonus to a figure based upon the character's Fate Score.
So any such benefits would take effect immediately upon increasing your Fate score. _________________ Eric Wiener

Ah, ok, makes sense.
If you're going to put a cap on spending fate, you might want to consider whether the FPs should completely reset at a Tier boundry or whether a PC can keep "additional" FPs they have - perhaps having FPs reset to the higher of the Fate score at the new Tier or the current value. For example, if my Fate score is 5, and I have 8 FPs, I could keep the extra and have 8 when starting the new Tier. But if I only have 3, my FP pool would reset to 5.
I have NO idea what impact that has, since I'm not sure all of what you're thinking wrt Fate and FPs. But, I wanted to toss it out for consideration.

Reset may end up being the wrong term; replenish to a minimum of, is also something that we have been considering. _________________ James Zwiers
