Greetings all,
We are holding a Silent Auction at Origins this year, the proceeds will be used to help offset the costs of running the Living Arcanis campaign.
I'll be following this post with one detailing how the silent auction will be run. You can expect to find it in the Gathering HQ starting Thursday morning.
Cheers,
James

ORIGINS 07 LIVING ARCANIS SILENT AUCTION
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
RULES & REGULATIONS
Bidding:
1. All bidding will close at 12pm (noon) on Saturday, July 7th.
2. All bids must be in increments of at least $1 USD.
3. All winning bids will be announced before Marshalling for the Battle
Interactive begins.
4. All winning bids must be paid in cash, certificates will not be distributed
until payment has been made.
5. Final bidding will not be accepted after the close of bids. Make your bids
before that time.
Collecting the Items:
These items are all being sold by the Council of Wisdom and the Shining Patrol
in an effort to raise funds for the War. Thus, there are gp costs involved, as
well as real money. There are three classes of items, how these are paid for by
PCs is detailed below.
-- Valued Items
These items have a known market value, and when one of these items is won,
the player must have his or her PC (or PCs) pay out funds equal to the market
value of the item, minus twice the dollar value of the winning bid.
For example, Grk'ka'ien has a market value of 14,796 gp. If the winning bid
was $100, then the winner must pay 14,596 gp to the Council of Wisdom.
A player can pool funds from all of his or her PCs, at their choice, to pay
for such an item. However, the item still ends up being owned by one PC, with
the all the normal rules from that time onward on transfering the certificate
to other PCs.
-- Unvalued Items
These items do not have a known market value, however, their effects are
known, and so these items are different than the mystery items noted below.
The player who wins one of these items must have his PC or PCs pay, in gp,
five times the dollar value of the winning bid to the Council of Wisdom.
-- Mystery Items
The function and value of these items is unknown. The player who wins these
items must pay at least 100 gp to the Council of Wisdom, or any multiple of
100 gp that they wish. _________________ James Zwiers

Greetings,
We will not be offering the Silent Auction at Origins this year. There are some internal concerns relating to the Auction that we will not be able to resolve before Origins. We are hopeful to have one at Gencon, but if we do, it will be announced here.
Sorry for any confusion.
