I guess what I need to know is, that do I get the curse AND the boon (free hatred rune inscription) from HP4? This seems counter-intuitive to me since they come from the same source... Also, do I get the inability to ever play HP4? (not that it matters for me, but it might in a situation with a rotating judge on a mod by mod basis)
As I said earlier, I am leaning towards yes.... eating mods and replaying them SHOULD have some negatives (and positives!!!) That way it cuts abuse ALOT. |

No. In HP3, someone who eats it doesn't get prevented from playing HP4.
In HP4, you don't get the curse if you eat the adventure. The benefit you get for being willing to eat the adventure is getting the full reward slate.
The reason that the negative entries exist, is those are the same sheets that are used for character replays; so they need to have the negative entries present now.

Why not give them the negative too? That way people don't replay specific modules with sweet rewards like HP 4. (free hatred rune AND free fine weapon/armor) They get something sweet but also get that negative curse...

PS just my two cents.... my gladiator appreciates not being cursed though... lol. |

Hello Frank,
I think James' reasoning is that most of the people GMing (like yourself) are doing it for the love of the game and not because they are trying to "get something for nothing". Now I agree that there may be the possibility that someone might "game" the system, but this has always been on the Honor System and we'll deal with those few, if and when they pop up.
Let me also say Thank you for eating the adventure. I appreciate you doing that so that others may play.

Am I allowed to award Fate Points to people replaying?

Someone who is replaying the adventure can certainly get the curse; only someone who is eating the adventure gets the automatic rewards without penalty; as a way of saying thank-you for eating the adventure.

Not reading the whole post as I don't want to know anything, but responding to the OP: Are you planning on running this at all online? Would be a great opportunity for a lot of folks if you did.

I am not planning on running it online as of now... I am not familiar with the online table tops at all, and my lap top (if you can call it that) is not extremely functional when it comes to well..... anything besides typing. lol. However, if something changes I would for sure run it online.

PS Thank you for the reward for eating modules... (I think just reading and getting to be a part of the story is a reward in and of itself...) the little bonuses are just sprinkles on top of frosting.... now I want a cupcake. |
