So the "Fine" weapon reward...I assume that has to be a 'new' weapon and cannot be used to turn an existing weapon into "Fine" quality, such as a Sarishan Steel weapon from an earlier mod? It wouldn't make sense story wise, obviously, but wasn't sure.

Thanks,
John

The reward is a weapon of choice from the armory.

Since the armory is not indicated as having any special material weapons, you can't "upgrade" a special material weapon. Which would actually just be donating your old weapon so that you don't have to carry both of them around . . ..

Well Sarishan Steel is a special property so I won't be donating it away without a replacement Smile I didn't *think* it worked, but figured I'd ask since I could see a point where you have this golf bag of weapons now, not that I'm complaining. I'm just glad I had an exceptional weapon for the Rune available!

you are a Dark Kin (according to your sig) therefore you had access to a FINE weapon (wich cannot hold the rune) only if you had chosen FINE armour could you hold the RUNE... (at least that is how I read the runes am I mistaken) (or if you were a Nol-Dapian (siq) Dwarf and got the Kings Weapon LOL)

I'd have loved to have the equipment loot we got work with each other: the sarishan steel weapon is nice of course but then you get a fine weapon and then a rune which you can only use if you took armour for little in game effect (for most people). The to hit bonuses were nice but given the trend of that module the sarishan steel was more useful. No matter how appropriate and flavoursome the rewards are I still love meaty bonuses.

Absolutely, but there look like there are far tastier less specific runes. Plus, have you ever taken a kid to the candy store and said you can have something now or if you wait to Christmas you can have the king size version...Given the party level and gold reserve at present it's a long way to Christmas.

but if you took the FINE weapon you cannot even GET the rune put on it... or am I missunderstanding RUNES ... hmmm reading it with a FINE tooth LAWYERS comb... I GUESS I could put it on my FINE weapon taking up one slot and it simply does NOTHING... later I can put it onto FINE armour if I get it or even Exceptional Armour... Is this CORRECT? ... (however putting it on Exceptional or Better it is still ONLY a FINE RUNE so if I put it on an Exceptional Weapon it does NOTHING...?)

I was under the assumption that you could only put a rune on a weapon of equal or greater quality.

IIRC (not looking it up), you can put multiple runes on an item, based on the item quality.

Item quality determines HOW MANY rune "slots" the item has, and it determines the highest quality rune which can be applied to the item.

Again, IIRC, no item may hold more than 1 rune of quality equal to the item. Lesser runes are limited by "slots" more than anything else.

This is correct.^^
Max of 1 each of exceptional and legendary. Ex & Leg. can only be placed on items of the same or greater quality.

This is correct ... however it IS a fine rune ... therefore can be put on a fine weapon (doing absolutly nuffin' 'cept tacking up a slot) and in the future it can be moved to a piece of fine armour (or clothing) giving the ability.

Is there any reason a PC could not sell the weapon they choose immediately following the adventure? For instance, a Kio PC takes a fine Kio Sword, selling it after the adventure for 5 GC....

First you can't get a fine Kio Sword from the dwarves because they don't have Kio Blades in stock. They only have weapons they would reasonably have in stock or reasonably have been commissioned to make by others. Kio blade isn't one of them. But that's another topic.

There isn't any thing keeping you from selling the weapon (as far as I know). I think the only weapons giving out you weren't allowed to sell so far were the ones with names and the Sarishan Steel weapons (they are the property of Milandir).
