Greetings,
I was looking back through things in the Codex and at the map of Onara and was curious if there are any known passes through the Corlathian Mountains? The Coryani Empire section discussed the Azure Way which is looking to make a path through near Enpebyn.
Is the only entrance between the southern edge of the Vastwood and the source of the Nardau river or are there other options?
Thanks!

Since pilgrims travel the Azure Way I would assume that there is a way through the mountains...probably hazardous (though the regular way certainly isn't without its perils either). We also know that the Sword of the Heavens marched an army over the Corlathean Mountains to sack Chendo in what is now (if memmory serves) more or less Dar Zhan Vor. So the Corlathean Mountains aren't a complete barrier.
But I assume the Southern entryway is the more common one.
Khitan also sends many pilgrims. I gather many come south by ship with a short hop over land rather than risk the Voie in the Fervidious Hills. _________________ ~Eisener val'Holryn. Holy Champion of Nier and haunted veteran of the crusade

There is a gap between the Corelathian Mountains and the Vastwood by Almeric which is the major pass into the Blessed Lands from Eastern Onara. _________________ Cody Bergman

Eric, depends on which Azure way you're talking about. The original Azure Way was the circuit around the first city the emperor walked before being crowned I believe and sitting upon the throne of man. The Coryani Azure Way was inspired by the one in the first city, but was meant as the most direct route running from Grand Coryan to the first city. Supported by 2 emperors, war eventually sapped resources. Overseeing the work on the Azure Way has been seen as a punishment detail at least according to the Codex.
Now, it's been 50 years since the time of the Codex's entries give or take, but given the focus on rebuilding after the war, I doubt the Azure Way was completed. If so, I expect it would have made the blurb in the A:RPG book.
This still leaves the possibilities of passes further to the east or west of Enpebyn, though if east probably east of the Corvis river's source as otherwise that would make for an expeditious route up the river and through a pass.
As for the gap between the mountains and the Vastwoood, that is certainly the obvious entry point. My question is more whether there are any known passes through the Corlathian mountains that can be used - even if considered too dangerous due to things like Sigarthian trolls and what not.

Throughout this post there are cities, regions, passes, rivers and mountains mentioned. Where can I find these details as I am aware there is no new map yet?
In the character creation section there is a chart where players choose background nationality. However, it is difficult to advise my players as I'm absolutely oblivious to the background...
Any help? |

I mean the modern Azure way. I know it doesn't go all the way, but it does reach Encali if memmory serves. Pilgrims do travel it, and I assume there are mountain passes the adventurous could follow.
That's speculation on my part but I think its reasonable. I assume most of the pilgrims go through Almeric but I doubt all of them do. _________________ ~Eisener val'Holryn. Holy Champion of Nier and haunted veteran of the crusade
