I have Witch Hunter in hand. We will have it at Origins this week, and the release date is expected to be 7/30.
I also want to add that it looks great!

I will second that the book looks great.
I played in three of the four intro mods and had a terrific time in all of them. I haven't done more than the barest skimming of the book yet and it was pretty funning in my second module being told I could help with an exorcism. "What??? Are you sure, I thought I was just a soldier." =)
On the whole I look forward to bringing it to my corner of the world!

I've added WH to my RPG Encyclopedia. (link not allowed)
What are the credits (author, etc.) for Witch Hunter?
Are there any reviews yet? |

Author Credits are: Scott Charlton, Rucht Lilavivat, Henry Lopez, M. Sean Molley, Brian Schoner, Robert J. Schwalb, Robert Vaughn
I can't say anything about reviews, but check Enworld (and any other review site of choice). _________________ James Zwiers

The game set up will remind anyone familiar with White Wolf of their word of darkness setting. Characters start off a rank of 2 in 9 abilities in three groups of three (physical, mental, spiritual). You have 100 points to bulk those numbers up. Moving from 2 to 3 costs ten points. Moving up higher costs more.
You have skills. They're divided into groups such as combat, movement or proffesional. Skills run off an ability and together they make oyur dice pool. Roll a bunch of D10s. Each 7 counts as a success. Something you could do as a DC:5 check in D&D probably requires 1 success to do under pressure. Somethings might require 7 successes to succed at. If you don't have a single success in your pool and have a 1 then you've flubbed it somehow. =)
That's the really fast pass on the mechanics. I liked the mechanics. The flavor IMO is even better. Basically some people are chosen by providence to deal with the "invisible world" of the supernatural. Your PC is one of them. Its the 1690s. There are a lot of divisions based on race, country of Origin and Religion. In Wicth Hunter the Aztecs and ther Incas are still around - with Magic they've managed to fight off the Spannish which is the biggest break with real world history. Regardless of what faction you belong to ALL Witch Hunters have signed an Accord following the London fire of 1666 - the result of Witch Hunters back biting each other rather than pursueing the forces of evil. Now, at least on paper they all work together in the face of the Adversary.
As I said earlier I played in 3 of the four adventures offered at origins and they (along with playing an NPC at the Arcanis LARP) were the highlights of this years trip. _________________ ~Eisener val'Holryn. Holy Champion of Nier and haunted veteran of the crusade
