Howdy, Mah name Is Delbert, I sure do appreciate you folks letting me have a sit down with y'all, since we is talking about where we come from I may as well add in my bit.

I dun grew up a bit outside Naaeranth, working on the farm with my Pa, we had pigs and grew Corn for our Lord, and he was a nice enuff fella, I mean the taxes weren't bad and they was bein used for good things. We had a good farm, we raised pigs, and some corn and wheat had ol Bechilda our goat for milk.

Well one day some fella from the church came by and started telling us more about the gods than I had ever heard before, I wuz down right enchanted by all the things he wuz saying about Illir, being the sun and Saluwe being in the plants. Well my Pappy done saw how I was paying attention more then I ever had when he was saying things so he had me carted off to one of those church schools.

I dun pretty good there, I was pretty strong and didn't mind doing the chores, and them teachers cold talk! whew I thought my ear'd fall off they talked so much. All them other folks there they got talked to by one priest or another to bend their ear about how great their lord was, none of them really wanted big ol dumb me around. So I just learned to listen, I got really good at that.

So I got older and them other kids either went home to be nobles or went off to learn about being a priest somewhere else and I just sat and listened. One day I noticed another fella just sitting there listening too, he was one of the priests but I jus thought he was working for one of the other priests, He saw me lookin at him and he smiled.

Dat was the day I became an Initiate of Hurrian. Its been a long road since then but I joined up with the crusade because it seems smart that if we gonna go fight the demons we should have the Shield of the Gods on our side.

For the record (because my Wonderful wife told me I should) This isn't me dissing on any group of people, this is me getting back to my roots (with a small amount of embellishment).

Delbert is based roughly on a real person, (Delbert being his middle name, but only government employees called him William or Bill)
