| Reading over the figting styles, I guess you cannot combine any other stance with the Rage within fighting style, or? Was thinking of doing it with Harnischfechten, but the Furious Rage part - you cannot utilize any stance probably make sit not possible, or is there a way? |

As I understand it, barring special circumstances, you may have only 1 fighting style, but I will need to double check. The intention of that line in T2 Rage Within is to allow those who wish to be "rage fighters" to gain the benefits of the general stance talents, not Fighting Styles. For example, you could do Rage Within and Forward Stance. _________________ Matthew Flinn

The Rage Within has an exception in its Tier II benefit:
"You learn how to combine other stances with this Fighting Style, and may benefit from one additional stance."
So yes you can combine a fighting style with the Rage within... but there is something you need to take into account.. you would not be able to use any of that Styles Martial Techniques which is the advantage of any Fighting Style. _________________ Pedro C Barrenechea

Got it. As I am thinking of creating a Nol Dappan with The rage within and Harnischfechten, could he still be grappling and use weapon tricks (Furious Rage doesn't mention any of those)? Esp., looking at tier 2 for Harnischfechten, a raging dwarf grappling and then using his flamberge while pinning an opponent, would be cool.
Could I use any other Martial Techniques learnt?
Problems to understand why I couldn't use any Martial techniques, so please enlighten me. Thanks, Peter |

Hello,

It might be cool, but not very likely.
Consider this: You are grappled with an opponent (basically using your arms, legs, body, etc to hold him in some manner. Now you want to also to then use a sword that is several feet in length and meant to be used two handed?
How?
That just doesn't make sense.
I'll give Peter the last word here, but this fails the Common Sense test for me.

Henry the fighting style Har. (the heavy armor one I can't spell) explicitly allows you to use the Flamberge in a grapple. _________________ Brian Trahan |

Wow - I guess I missed that one.
Well, then kindly disregard.
I guess I'll keep my common sense to myself.

It is an easy line to miss in the middle of a block of text. We, or at least I, won't hold it against you. _________________ Brian Trahan |

So I can play my raging, grappling opponent bashing dwarf with a flamberge
And one thing: The book is great! Love it, keep up the good work - and I really like the system! |

I had a question about fighting styles while we are at it. They count as stances and thus the many two-weapon styles can't be used with balanced blades. Was this the intent? _________________ -Devin Redd, Detroit Harvester

Yes, yes it was. Trust me, this was discussed during editing. _________________ Valeriano Innocenzo Camillo de Larissa la Galletti

Good catch, I hadn't noticed that guessing there should be an exception made for Balanced Blades perhaps.
