Question: We are in a new system compared to the OGL game, but we have a massive backlog of lovable/hatable NPCs. What do you think their builds were using the new system?
For example: Elandre's father Acastus was Prelate of Coryan and of Illiir, but we also know that he served a time in the Legion. As such, I would think he was Divine or Expert, Former Tribune background. He must have become an Annointed Priest which means that he probably took Devout Initiate, Annointed Priest, and went on from there. He was said to have been a "Humble Legionnaire", so I doubt that he made Centurion, which matches him being a Tribune (also, he is obviously of a Patrician background).
Anyone else?

Additionally, Elandre':
Expert - Patrician (or Dilletante). She obviously would have taken Devoted paths to gain access to her Spell Casting, probably as part of her stay in Solanos Mor. From there, she would have gotten her Annointed Priest chops. _________________ Cody Bergman

I don't know that many NPCs need to be "fleshed out" mechanically the way PCs are ... I admit its a fun party game but I also worry about NPCS being pigeoned-holed by their stats. Stats by definition define what someone can do ... and its my opinion that NPCs should do whatever they need to, to serve key story elements (...and too many stats can get in the way of that). For example we knew that Felician val'Mehan cast as a 16th level cleric in the last arc ... and yet he was killed with one sword thrust by the Emperor.
I'm pretty sure most players would have cried foul if that had been done to their character (WhadayoumeanI'mdeadfromonehitIhave150hp!!!)
In today's system is it any more satisfying to say Felician only had 1 wound because he was an old man with a Vi of 2? Or that Calcestus was able to use Murderous Precision on him because Felician was Elite and not an Adversay (...we'll say for this example Cal had all 5 teirs of MP...)?
Or are NPCs just driven by what makes sense and serves the story? _________________ ~Eisener val'Holryn. Holy Champion of Nier and haunted veteran of the crusade
