When calculating dice pools should penalties be applied first and then bonuses added or vice versa. I ask because of the no bonuses taking a dicepool over ten rule and if this would apply before figuring the final pool. For example, a character has HTH 7, +4 bonus and -3 penalty. If subtracting penalty first final dice pool 8, if adding bonus first but not going above 10 dice at any time final dice pool 7, if adding bonus first but not going above 10 dice for final dice pool, but ok to go above 10 when making calculations, then final dice pool 8.

Based on the example of the Track skill, I think you just figure out all the + modifiers and - modifiers and have those cancel each other out, with any remainder acting as the only modifier to the dice pool.

That makes a lot of sense and does work from the example. Cheers for the input.

Just as a reminder the 10dice pool was erratad. They where going to keep it but it was dropped from the final printing, and some refrences still sneaked into the document. There is no dice cap, trust me i saw thanks to spell bonuses, a 18 dice attack at origins.
