Paradigm Concepts at GenCon Indy

Paradigm Concepts will be exhibiting at booth #537.

Our new products:

"Theocracy of Canceri"

The benighted nation in the north of Onara, Canceri, is a nation of contrasts. Its urbane and cultured priesthood practices the most brutal rites of sacrifice and worship in modern Arcanis. Necropoli stand in perfect repair as the homes of the living decay in ruin. Brutal slavery is the law of the land, yet every soul: priest, noble or common holds the right to ultimate ascension. In all things, wickedness is the norm. Virtue is weakness, and paradise awaits those that embrace their baser nature.
"Theocracy of Canceri" is a 144 page sourcebook for Arcanis: the World of Shattered Empires.

"Conspiracies"

Conspiracies, red meat for the masses, the tantalizing mysteries and puzzles built to comfort those afraid of the painful truth. The sanctuary of madmen, unwilling to admit the world is a dangerous place without direction. It is somehow less frightening to believe that a sinister cabal is orchestrating every terrible event than to admit that events are out of control, beyond the grasp of human management. Conspiracy Theories are comforting, they tell us that all was once well before the bad people came, and if the villains could be removed, all would be well again. Those that believe such things are part of a lunatic fringe, seeking impossible explanations for either inexplicable tragedy or the frighteningly simple truth that all is not well with the world. At least, that is what the powers that be want the cattle of the world to believe. Take care whilst reading this sourcebook, ignorance of the truth is a protection all its own.
"Conspiracies" is an 80 page sourcebook for Spycraft 2.0

"Tales of the Caliphate Nights"

The stories come from Arabia, Persia, India, even China. They tell not only of fearsome djinni and fantastical palaces, but also of profound spiritual insight and transformation. They reflect the enormous Islamic civilization during the ninth to thirteenth centuries, which stretched from Spain across North Africa to Cairo, across the Arabian peninsula, up to Damascus and Baghdad, further north to Samarkand, across what is now Afghanistan, down into India, and beyond. A traveler could wander across this vast region speaking Arabic, studying and praying in mosques, and trading with fellow Moslems. The stories are decadent, prejudiced, and fantastical, as well as redeeming, illuminating, and grounded. The stories are best known as the Thousand and One Arabian Nights. The Adventure Begins at Nightfall!
"Tales of the Caliphate Nights" is a 256-page campaign setting sourcebook for the True 20 System

"Not Dead Yet"

The newest of the popular "cert shirts" for use while playing Living Arcanis will be available in limited numbers.

Living Arcanis Campaign Cards will be available at the Paradigm Concepts Booth. These are similar to the RPGA reward cards and are usable with any Living Arcanis character.

There is also a large slate of Living Arcanis events at the show!

More Praise for Tales of the Caliphate Nights

TotCN

Tales of the Caliphate Nights, set to release in print to your FLGS starting on Monday the 7th of August, has another perfect 5 star review.

 Some highlights of the review:

" In addition, one can see the influence of the Thousand Nights, the classic collection of Arabian fairy tales in both the rules and setting details of the book. In fact, stories and story-telling are a big part of Caliphate Nights. That they've succeeded in their somewhat difficult task speaks well for Paradigm Concepts, Inc."

"This is also where we first see the idea of storytelling introduced as something of a metagame concept in the rules. While all roleplaying game characters are part of a story, Tales of the Caliphate Nights gives mechanics to back that idea up and, at the same time, encourage the kind of stories that inspired the setting. Its wonderfully innovative and a welcome addition to the open gaming landscape."

"Tales of the Caliphate Nights is an interesting campaign setting that simultaneously combines elements of a historic setting with the stories it has inspired. I really like the way the system mechanics are made to support the roleplaying aspects of the setting. True20 seems a perfect fit for this setting, and the authors have done a great job adapting it to work even better for their ends. There is some real innovation going on in this [book], and you can see why it was selected as one of the winners in Green Ronin's True20 setting search. "

First Review for Tales of the Caliphate Nights 5 out of 5 Stars!

TotCNTales of the Caliphate Nights has received its first review since the release of the PDF and it was for a perfect 5 out of 5 stars!

 Some highlights of the review:

"Tons of clones are published every week pretending to be innovative. Tales of Caliphate Nights IS innovative."

"The writing is delicate enough to truly bring out the beauty if Islam and Muslims into a fantasy realm without being preachy or insulting any other religion or philosophy."

"The artwork is the best in a publication all year. Best of all this mechanics of the True 20 system thoroughly explores the fantasy Arabic realm and allows players more control over their campaign world.  "
